Minsi Campout!

Troop 3 went camping to Minsi Scout Reservation located in Pocono Summit, PA in the Minsi Trails Council. Our troop loved it! We stayed in Tabins, they have wood stoves inside, and canvas roofs, and bunk beds. Each tabin can hold 8 scouts. I cooked Egg, Cheese, and Porkroll, on toasted bagels for breakfast. Also, Mr. Consorti made delicious stake for dinner. The leaders loved it! I debated with Mr. Consorti about investing in the S&P 500. We went on a hike, but sadly it was shortened, and we chose not to go into the major swamp. Which I would have enjoyed. The scouts did well, but could work on being more swift with cooking and clean up. Other than that they did great. I met another troop who was staying there. It was a boy troop, girl troop, and pack all camping together. I met Tom Buchanan from that unit, and he was a great guy. We talked a lot about the OA, he is from Witauchsoman Lodge. They also had a lovely campfire ceremony they let me and Gerard join in on. The also conducted a very solemn flag retiring ceremony, and that was nice. Gerard was driving me home, and I setup my Yaesu FT-891 in his car with a mobile antenna with my LDG Electronics Z-100 Plus AutomaticTuner. Believe it or not, I was able to talk to Austria and Italy.

“Why is it there now!?!” (if you know, you know…)
